| Doda Congress demands ex-gratia for victims | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
DODA, June 7: Naresh Gupta president District Congress Committee Doda has expressed his serious concern and anguish over the matador accident near Prem Nagar between Thathri Doda NH-1-B on 7th June 2009, reported with approximately 30 passengers has gone in the deep river Chinab, only 34 people have been rescued by the locals. The said accident has occurred due to overloading with rash and negligent driving of the driver of the said vehicle.
Naresh has demanded stren action against the Traffic police posted in the area and immediate operation by hireing the services of trained swimmers for the recovery of the dead bodies.
Naresh has also saught the intervention of Omar Abdullah Chief Minister in this matter, besides immediate payment of ex-gratia relief to the tune of rupees 10 lacs to the bereaved families, with join to one member of the effected family, and free treatment to the injured.
District president Naresh has also requested to the Chief Minister to provide at least 30 SRTC buses to this area as agreed earlier and special post of SP Traffic be establish in Doda in view of increase of traffic accidents with instructions to the Add. Regional Transport Officer Doda to scrutinse the driving licenses of the drivers as driving licences are being issued against considerations.
