| Rather reviews construction of E&T Complex at Rambagh | | Directs executing agency to complete project by August 31 | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, JUNE 8: Minister for Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today set a deadline of August 31st, 2009 to J&K Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) for completing construction work of Excise and Taxation Complex at Rambagh. Chairing a high-level review meeting, Mr. Rather directed the executing agency to expedite work and complete the project by the scheduled timeframe. He said adequate funds would be released to complete the project by the said target, adding no delay would be tolerated in this regard. The meeting was told that an amount of Rs. 19 crore has already been spent over the project and further Rs. 11 crore are required for completing the interior works so that the complex is ready within scheduled timeframe. It was given out that tenders would be floated shortly to acquire voltage stabilizers so that power supply is fully installed in the complex. An adequate provision has to be made for providing residential accommodation to the security personnel in the complex. The matter has already been taken up by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir with DIG, Srinagar-Budgam Range, the meeting was informed. The meeting also decided that an STP costing Rs. 50 lakh would also be provided in the complex to dispose off solid and liquid wastes. Additional funds on this count would be made available for meeting the cost of this facility. The meeting also reviewed pace of ongoing works for augmenting facilities at Lakhanpur Toll Plaza Complex and Nagri complex and it was decided that adequate funds would be released in different instalments so that these complexes are also completed in a stipulated timeframe. Commissioner/Secretary, Finance, Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Khawaja Bashir Ahmed, Excise Commissioner, Mr. Pardeep Gupta, Managing Director, JKPCC, Mr. D. Thusoo, Director, Training and Development and Special Secretary, Finance Mr. R. K. Koul attended the meeting.
