| No decision yet on yatra schedule | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 08: With no let up in snow and rains along the routes to the Amarnath cave shrine, the Board managing the shrine is expected to take a final decision about rescheduling the yatra within three days. The Shri amarnath shrine Board (SASB) will review the situation and take appropriate decision of the safety and security of pilgrims after the Governor N N Vohra visit the holy cave on June 11, a spokesman of the Board said. The yatra which was originally scheduled to commence from June seven has already been rescheduled to June 15 due to accumulation of snow at various places enroute to the 3,880 meter high cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. The fresh snowfall in the upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley, in past three days, has covered various stretches of the tracks leading to the cave from the Baltal and Pahalgam sides, with around two feet snow, official sources said. Asked about the latest status of the tracks and the various facilities being created at the base camps, the spokesman said on pahalgam route, the track and the camp areas at Sheshnag, Mahagunas Top and Poshpathri are still under thick snow cover while on the Baltal side, the two kilometers stretch from Sangam to the cave has also come under fresh snow. There are unconfirmed reports of a patch of track being washed away because of cloud burst over the Pissu Top area and the Board is awaiting the facts and official position in this regard, the spokesman said
