| Swimming aspirants kept waiting by Council | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 09: The J&K State Sports Council has not been able to make fresh admissions at its only swimming pool at MA Stadium here due to unavailability of admission forms. Since the printing of stationary, especially the forms used in new admission, is centralized, the concerned officials have been left with no other option but to wait for a delivery from head office presently at Summer Capital. The unavailability of forms has not only affected the new admission seekers but also caused loss of revenue to the only earning sports facility of autonomous sports body in the state. “Today was my second visit to the Council office in the last one week and again I have been told to wait for some more days to get a form,” Dinesh Manhotra, a parent eager to enroll his son for swimming classes told SAN. “On an average, five to 10 admission seekers approach us every day,” said concerned clerk at the office of Sports Officer, Jammu. However, the Jammu office of the Sports Council has already submitted the requisition with higher-ups in Srinagar, but nothing has been done in this regard. “Printed admission forms are lying with the Central office at Srinagar but delivery to Jammu is not possible due to ongoing strike in Valley,” Manager Swimming Pool, Slamat-Ullah told SAN. “Hopefully, the forms will be available in Jammu within a couple of days. As soon as the forms reach us, we will start issuing the same to new admission seekers,” informed the Manager.
