RS Pura, June 9: To pay tributes to Grenadier Shaheed ‘Vicky Singh’, who sacrificed his life three year back in Kashmir valley while fighting the militants a function was held at Raipur-Sayeedan here today.
MLC, RS Chib who was the chief guest paid rich tributes to the son of soil and said Vicky Singh laid down his life at Bandipora, while combating against the militants in counter insurgency operation. Chib said that his sacrifice cannot be forgotten by the Nation and he attained martyrdom at the age of 21 years. Chib asked the younger generation to draw inspiration from the life of Shaheed who sacrificed his life in defence of his motherland.
Retd. Sub Dharmesh Singh father of Vicky Singh also spoke on this occasion. Sukhdev Singh, Col. R.L. Gangal, Ch Sham Lal, MLA (Suchetgarh), Pritam Singh, Vijay Singh, Tirath Ram Sharma, Jarnail Singh, Hans Raj, Guddu Singh, Mahinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Narain Singh, Sham Singh and Pt. Gian Chand paid floral tributes, by laying wreaths on the memorial.
