He was speaking while participating in a Chhabeel Seva programme organized by local residents of the New Plot area on the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi. The Chhabeel was jointly organized by Ashwani Raina, Rupesh Bhatt, Shiv Kumar, Ashok Kumar and others. On the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, packed fruit juice and Jal Jeera were distributed among a large number of passers-by and local residents. Amid the intense summer heat, people appreciated the service and praised the efforts of the organizers. Balbir Ram Rattan, on this occasion, said that Nirjala Ekadashi is considered one of the most significant and meritorious observances in Hinduism. The day is dedicated to penance, self-discipline, service and charity. According to religious beliefs, observing a fast on this day and providing water and food to the needy brings immense spiritual merit. This is why various social, religious and trade organizations across the country organize Chhabeels and serve people on this occasion. Balbir Ram Rattan further said that service holds the highest place in Indian culture. Offering water to the thirsty and helping those in need is regarded as one of the greatest duties of humanity. The tradition of Chhabeel is not limited to quenching thirst; it also conveys the message of compassion, humanity and selfless service to society. He added that in the present times, the need for such service-oriented activities has increased even more, as they promote positive thinking and strengthen social unity. He also appealed to the youth to actively participate in religious and social events and make service to humanity an integral part of their lives. |
