DIG, DC review and finalise Amarnath Yatra 2026 arrangements in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, June 25: DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of officers from various line departments to review and finalise preparedness for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 across the district.
The meeting covered arrangements along the Yatra route from Tikri to Chenani, including security, safe drinking water, power supply, healthcare and emergency medical services, sanitation, lodging centres, temporary toilets, langar arrangements and traffic management.
JPDCL officers were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply along the route; the Jal Shakti Department to deploy water tankers round the clock; the Assistant Commissioner of Police to establish sanitary complexes and toilet facilities well in advance; the Traffic Department to ensure smooth vehicular movement throughout the Yatra; Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Udhampur to install adequate dustbins and deploy vehicles for scientific disposal of waste at langar sites and lodging centres; and the Chief Medical Officer to ensure round-the-clock medical facilities, adequate healthcare personnel and prompt emergency response services.
Among those present were Senior Superintendent of Police Amritpal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Umesh Shan and senior officers from the civil administration, police and other security agencies.
