3404 Dohas of Sadguru Kabir Sahib Ji Brought to Life in a Landmark Musical Project by Renowned Singer RD Kailey

Early Times Report
CHANDIGARH, June 27: A unique and monumental musical tribute to Sadguru Kabir Sahib Ji is set to reach audiences worldwide with the launch of an unprecedented project featuring the complete rendition of 3,404 dohas (couplets) by acclaimed vocalist RD Kailey, an A-Grade artiste of All India Radio (Akashvani), New Delhi.
Kabir Sahib is revered for his simple yet profound dohas, which continue to inspire people across generations with their timeless wisdom, practical philosophy, social reform, and message of universal harmony. Although Kabir composed an extensive body of poetry, his dohas remain the most widely quoted in classrooms, public speeches, religious discourses, literature, films, and musical performances. However, only a limited number of these couplets have traditionally been sung or recited, while the vast majority have remained largely unexplored.
With over four decades of experience in music, RD Kailey has undertaken the extraordinary task of collecting and rendering all 3,404 dohas from the authoritative compilation "Kabir Saakhi", comprising 84 Angs (chapters). The entirely self-funded project is one of the most comprehensive musical presentations of Kabir's dohas ever attempted.
The project represents nearly 30 hours of recorded music and reflects meticulous planning, dedication, and artistic excellence. One of the biggest challenges was to maintain musical freshness and listener engagement while preserving the authenticity and impact of every doha. Great care was also taken to ensure complete accuracy and avoid omissions.
The music has been composed in groups of nine dohas, with each couplet presented in a slightly different melodic flavour while retaining its original essence. The music has been arranged by experienced composer Gurvinder Singh Lovely, while recording, voice dubbing, mixing, and mastering were completed at the renowned AB Sound Studio, Mumbai, under the supervision of sound engineer Arvind Vishvakarma.
The complete project has been organized chapter-wise into albums. Where the number of dohas in a chapter was not exactly divisible by nine, the remaining dohas were systematically grouped to maintain continuity and presentation quality.
Beginning on the 628th Prakat Divas of Sadguru Kabir Sahib Ji, 29 June 2026, one album will be uploaded daily on RD Kailey's YouTube channel for 360 consecutive days. In addition, every individual doha will also be uploaded separately, taking the total number of uploads to an impressive 3,764 (3,404 individual dohas plus 360 albums).
