| 26/11: 10 year old identifies Kasab as CST gunman | | | Agencies Mumbai, June 10: The key accused of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks Mohamad Ajmal Kasab was on Wednesday identified by a 10-year-old girl in the special court where he was produced for hearing. The girl while recognising Kasab, claimed before the magistrate that it was he who had fired at her at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station. Kasab and his accomplice had brutally injured the minor girl rendering her disabled while killing several others at the station on the fateful day. The child had to spend over a month at the hospital to recover from her grievous wounds. The girl, Devika Rotawan was the youngest witness to depose against the accused. Her father and an Assistant Police Inspector who also sustained injuries in the firing also testified in the court today. Recognising Kasab out of three others who were also produced in the dock, Devika said, "There was a loud explosion, at that time my father said we should leave and holding me in his arms he started running in one direction while my brother ran in another direction. Just as we were leaving I saw two persons firing at people. I received a bullet injury in my right leg," she said. "My leg broke, and blood spilled out." she lamented. This is the third of the several cases against the alleged terrorist which opened up for hearing in a special court here today. This is one of them in which he is said to be directly involved. After the girl’s testimony, Kasab’s cross-examination will be conducted by Special public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam. Defence counsel for Kasab, Abbas Kazmi chose not to cross-examine the witness and special judge M L Tahaliyani asked the girl some questions. When asked by the court if her testimony was true, Devika said, "It is not correct to say that I am telling lies about Kasab opening fire. I have taken oath in the name of God I will not tell lies." The ten-year-old also denied that she had identified Kasab only because the police had asked her to do so. The deadly terror assault on the commercial capital of the country had killed over 180 during 26/11 attacks, in the worst terror strike in the country.
