Early Times Report LEH, June 27: Operation Netra 1.0, an initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, was conducted at Army General Hospital, Leh from 26 - 30 Apr 2026. Over 200 cataract patients from remote border villages of Ladakh successfully underwent surgery, restoring their vision. In the past three months, Army Eye Camps across Tangste, Chushul, Nyoma, Nubra Valley and Kargil delivered quality eye care to more than 950 community members. Lieutenant Governor UT Ladakh, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, graced the Closing Ceremony at Rinchen Auditorium, Leh and conveyed gratitude to the Indian Army on behalf of the people of Ladakh. Lt Gen Pratik Shrama, Army Commamder Northern Commamd, thanked the team of ophthalmologists from Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi led by Brig Sanjay Kumar Mishra and SNM Hospital, Leh for their partnership. He affirmed that while Operation Netra 1.0 has concluded, its impact will endure in renewed vision and improved quality of life, marking the beginning of many more such initiatives. |
