DC Baramulla, MD Mission Yuva jointly review implementation of Flagship Scheme, Mission YUVA in district

BARAMULLA, June 29: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, S.F Hamid and Director Employment/ Mission Director (MD), Mission YUVA, Harvinder Singh, jointly chaired a review meeting at the DC Office Baramulla to assess the implementation and progress of the Mission YUVA flagship initiative in district Baramulla.
The meeting focused on the implementation and current status of the programme, progress achieved, challenges faced in execution, and measures to ensure effective outreach and timely delivery of benefits to aspiring entrepreneurs and youth.
Speaking during the meeting, the DC directed the concerned officers to lay special emphasis on creating employment opportunities through the apple industry under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.
The DC directed the concerned officers to intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots level to ensure that maximum eligible youth are informed about the opportunities available under Mission YUVA and are encouraged to avail the benefits of the scheme.
Meanwhile, the MD directed the concerned officers to closely monitor not only the applications that have been sanctioned and disbursed but also those that have been rejected, emphasizing the need to identify the reasons for rejection, provide necessary guidance and handholding support to the applicants and facilitate the resubmission of eligible applications.
Furthermore, the MD instructed the concerned officers to conduct large-scale awareness and outreach campaigns under Udyam Jagriti 5.0 by involving Mission YUVA Motivators and Yuva Doots across the district.
He emphasized that the campaign should focus on identifying, motivating, and guiding aspiring entrepreneurs, including students and Self-Help Group (SHG) Lakhpati Didis, towards sustainable self-employment and livelihood opportunities.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Chief Planning Officer, Nisar Ahmad, AD Employment, Lead District Manager, Career Counselling Officer and coordinators of Small Business Development Unit (SBDU), Business Help Desks (BHD) and others.
The meeting was also attended virtually by officers and officials dealing with Mission YUVA from other districts of Jammu and Kashmir in a virtual mode.
