| JMC impose ban on use of polythene | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 10: The Jammu Municipal Corporation has imposed a ban on the use of Polythene Carry Bags within the Municipal Limits with immediate effect. As per press release order has been issued in pursuance to the issuance of SRO-182 of 2009 by the Govt. where under the rules have been farmed for implementation of Non-Biodegradable Material Management Handling Disposal Act, 2007. The Act imposes ban on the use of Polythene Carry Bags and has also prescribed conditions for the disposal of Non-Biodegradable Material. The Municipal bodies have assigned the responsibility for implementation of the provisions of the Act and the Rules for posing ban on sale, stocks and movement of such material in the Municipal Corporation Jammu. The Corporation after issuance of the said rules had taken measures for making general public aware of the said Act and provision of banning on the use of Polythene Carry Bags
