| DGPC express concern over attack on Sikhs in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 10: The District Gurdwara Parbandak Committee (DGPC) have expressed serious concern over the ugly development in Kashmir in attacking a Sikh family by some miscreants. As per DGPC handout members in meeting have urged upon the government that the culprits responsible for attack be dealt seriously and ensure punishment to them. They said it is a sad affair that the administration remained a mute spectator when Sikhs were attacked and property ransacked, beside women folk were not spared and were humiliated. They said attack on Sikhs and also on Gurdwara was in a well planned manner. The members in the meeting condemn such attack on minority and said Sikh always maintains social and secular falsie with majority community. Members appeal Sikh Community to maintain peace and communal harmony and brotherhood. Sikhs in the meeting express concern over the minorities is Pakistan who have been forced to pay Jazia by Taliban. They urged the centre government to take up the issue with Pakistan Government committee also is demand for appointment of minority commission in the state as central Act of minorities commission does not apply in the J&K State as the assurance was given by then CM Gulam Nabi Azad as well as Dr. Farooq Abdullah that the said Act will be implement in the state by legislation. This assurance should be fulfilled urgently. So that state minorities may seek relief as and when required.
