JAMMU, June 10: Young wrestlers, Bagga of Amritsar and Benia of Basantgarh in J&K shared the Annual Londna Kesari dangal title after the main bout fought for 41 minutes remained undecided at Baba Londna Dev Sathal in Udhampur.
Both the fighting wrestlers were given away a cash prize of Rs 3500 each by Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Baldev Raj Sharma, who was chief guest in the event. Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ravel Choudhary and Pawan Kumar Gupta district president BJP were guests of honour. Prominent among others present were Khem Raj Dubey, Puran Chand, Pujari Bishwa Nath Ji, Mukand Lal and Khem Raj.
Dangal was organised by Jai Baba Londna Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
In all, 42 bouts were played in the day-long dangal which was witnessed by a healthy crowd of locals and sports lovers from surrounding areas.
The second main bout held between wrestler Goga of Amritsar and Jakker Hussain of Jammu again remained undecided. In third bout was won by Mohd. Akram of Jammu defeating Sanjay of Haryana.
Members and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of this Dangal included Khem Raj Dubey (President), Sunil Kumar, Pujari Bishwa Nath Ji, Puran Sharma, Kartar Chand, Mukund Lal, Khem Raj, Durga Dass, Mohd. Fareed, Vijay Singh, Lashman Singh and Suram Singh.
Other results: Billu bt Rashid, Asraf bt Krishan, Ajub bt Subash, Nishu bt Balvinder, Pappu bt Karambir, Rashid bt Lalla, PremVerma bt Jagdish, Attar Deen bt Govind, Pawan Kumar bt Sanjay, Gorkha bt Roshan, Sunny of Delhi bt Mustaq Ali of Bani Basohli, Pappu of Ramnagar bt Parm Paul Singh of Amritsar, Nishat Ali of Jammu bt Pintu of Delhi, Baboo bt Nishu, Ali bt Prem Verma, Ajub of Merrut beat Gorkha of Nepal. Bout between Akram of Jammu and Sonu of Merrut ended in a draw. -------
