Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, July 2: As a part of NHPC's employee welfare initiatives, the Regional Office, Chandigarh, under the guidance of Executive Director Mr. Aditya Gautam, organized a free health awareness session on 2nd July , 2026, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The objective of the programme was to promote health awareness among employees and encourage preventive healthcare practices. The session featured Dr. Zubin Mehta, M.S. (Orthopedics), who delivered an informative presentation on bone and joint health. He elaborated on the causes and risk factors of osteoporosis and highlighted effective preventive measures, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, and maintaining an active lifestyle. He also discussed the role of robotic surgery in modern orthopedic treatment, emphasizing its advantages and the precision and improved outcomes it offers. In addition, he spoke about other common bone and joint disorders, their early symptoms, and the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment. The second expert speaker, Ms. Aanchal Sharma, Psychologist, conducted an engaging and interactive session on Mental Health and Stress Management. She discussed the major causes of workplace stress and shared practical strategies for managing stress effectively. She also emphasized the importance of positive thinking, emotional well-being, time management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Highlighting the growing significance of mental health in corporate and office environments, she encouraged participants to adopt healthy coping mechanisms through a range of interactive activities. Senior officers and employees of the NHPC Regional Office, Chandigarh, were present on the occasion. |
