REASI, July 2: Continuing its sustained drive against drug abuse under the 'Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan', Reasi Police has registered two separate cases under the NDPS Act against individuals found to have consumed narcotic substances in Katra town.

The individual was subjected to a personal search; however, no incriminating material was recovered from his possession. He was subsequently taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Katra, where his medical examination was conducted using a Rapid Multi-Drug Urine Test Kit. The test confirmed the presence of narcotic substances, establishing drug consumption.

In another similar incident , during routine patrolling in Katra town, a police party of Police Station Katra observed another individual on Railway Road exhibiting suspicious behaviour, including an unsteady gait, drowsiness and red, congested eyes. During enquiry, he disclosed his identity as Shubham Sharma S/O Yashpaul R/O Searli, Katra.
The individual was taken to CHC Katra for a medical examination, where a Rapid Multi-Drug Urine Test Kit confirmed his positive status for consumption of narcotic substances (THC).
