Early Times Report JAMMU, July 4: A delegation from MY Bharat, Jammu & Kashmir, led by Sh. Nitin Hangloo, State Director (I/c), called on Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, to discuss strengthening collaboration for promoting youth engagement, volunteerism, and experiential learning opportunities for students. During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on intensive youth registrations on the MY Bharat Portal, nomination of a University Nodal Officer and Campus Ambassador to coordinate MY Bharat activities on campus, and facilitating the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) for students of SMVDU in collaboration with Government Departments and other partner institutions. The delegation also handed over the Joint D.O. Letter issued by the Hon'ble Secretaries of the Department of Youth Affairs and the Department of Higher Education, Government of India, to the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor. The letter emphasizes closer collaboration between Higher Education Institutions and MY Bharat for promoting youth development, volunteerism, and experiential learning in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Nitin Hangloo highlighted that the Experiential Learning Programme provides students with valuable hands-on exposure through structured internships and community engagement in government departments, enabling them to develop practical skills, leadership qualities, civic responsibility, and enhanced employability. Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar appreciated the initiatives undertaken by MY Bharat and assured the University's full support in promoting youth participation through portal registrations, institutional coordination, and implementation of experiential learning opportunities for students. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to work collaboratively towards creating meaningful opportunities for students through volunteerism, skill development, and experiential learning, thereby contributing to nation-building and youth empowerment. The delegation included Ms. Pavit Bani, District Youth Officer, Udhampur, who accompanied the State Director during the meeting. |
