Early Times Report JAMMU, July 4: Dimaagi Mind Care & Research Centre, Channi Himmat, Jammu, successfully concluded its 15-day Summer Internship Programme in Clinical and Counselling Psychology with a valedictory and certificate distribution ceremony. The internship provided 60 hours of structured, supervised and skill-based exposure to students pursuing psychology and related disciplines. A total of 50 students from Government College for Women, Gandhinagar; MIER College of Education; Trikuta Degree College; Christ University, Bengaluru; Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh; Chandigarh University; Amity University and other institutions completed the programme. The programme was held under the leadership of Dr Rajinder Kumar, Clinical Director, Dimaagi Mind Care & Research Centre. The students received guidance from Dr Vijay Bharti Dhingra, Consultant Psychiatrist; Ms Rimjhim, Clinical Psychologist; and Sajad Ahmed Qureshi, Programme Coordinator. During the internship, students were oriented to counselling skills, psychoeducation, psychiatric case history taking, Mental Status Examination, psychiatric disorders, de-addiction counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-based approaches. The programme focused on clinical observation, communication skills, ethical sensitivity and the responsible application of psychological concepts in real mental health settings. The valedictory session included an assessment, screening of an educational film on psychiatric disorders, student feedback and distribution of certificates. The faculty appreciated the students' active participation and encouraged them to continue developing a strong foundation in evidence-based mental healthcare. Dr Rajinder Kumar and his team have trained more than 1000 psychology and psychiatry students through practical internship programmes and continue to work in psychiatric care, psychological assessment, counselling, psychotherapy, psychoeducation and mental health awareness. |
