Early times report JAMMU,JUNE 11: The NSS Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu, Professor Jasbir SIngh today sent off a contingent of 35 NSS Volunteers from the University for Heritage Trekking being organised in collaboration with Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), J & K state branch and the Directorate of Tourism,Jammu, J&K Govt. According to a press release from the office of NSS Programme Coordinator, the Heritage Trekking shall start from 11th June to 16th June 2009. The route of the trekking trek covered shall be Mongri to Mantalai which covers Mogri, Shankiri, Panchari, Natha Top, Patnitop, Gourikund, Sudhmahadev-Matalai. This will be an opportunity for NSS volunteers to enjoy the rich cultural heritage of the region. During this trekking expedition students shall be interacting with the local community and also spread the message of environment conservation. The contingent is led by Prof. Pankaj Sharma, NSS, Programme Officer, Government Degree College, Ramnagar.
