| Kargil Hero’s Cup: Police Lines XI wins thriller | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, June 11: Police Lines XI today consolidated their position after they beat Shahpur Club in a thriller in the ongoing Kargil Hero’s Cricket Cup Tournament at Degree College, here.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Shahpur Club bowled out for 191 runs in 24.5 overs of the 25 overs match. In reply, Police Lines XI equaled the score and then clinched the victory 4-2 (T20 rules).
Zakir was highest scorer from Shahpur Club with 43 runs while Zaffer contributed 37 runs to the total. From Police Lines XI, Sunil was most successful bowler with four for 25 in five overs.
Batting second, Police Lines XI could not make winning run and lost all their wickets for 191 in 24.3 overs. However, in the deciding over (T20 rules), Police Lines XI emerged winner making it 4-2.
Nitu was top scorer with 40-ball 54 runs while Riyaz contributed 36. Pervez clinched four wickets for Shahpur Club.
Today’s match was officiated by Harbans Singh and Happy. The tournament, wherein 15 teams are taking part on league-cum-knock out basis, is organised by Glamorous Cricket Club.
