Early Times Report JAMMU, July 8: In a significant initiative to promote rice production, SKUAST-Jammu organized a Rice Transplanting Programme under AICRP (Rice), Division of Plant Breeding and Genetics. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. B. N. Tripathi, formally initiated the activity by handing over rice seedlings to field workers and commended the rice scientists for their efforts. Dr. S. K. Gupta, Director Research, highlighted the critical role of rice in the Jammu region and urged scientists to promote mechanized transplanting among farmers. Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension, also graced the occasion. Dr. Anuradha Saha, Chief Scientist & Incharge, AICRP (Rice), emphasized the importance of such events in motivating scientists and field staff. The programme witnessed active participation from Dr. Tuhina Dey, Professor & Head (PBG), along with Chief Scientists Dr. R. S. Sudan, Dr. Rajan Salalia, Dr. V. B. Singh, and other faculty members of the division. |
