Chandigarh, July 9: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that, in line with the Mission Olympic 2036 vision, the state will develop world-class sports infrastructure to help athletes win the maximum number of medals at the Olympic Games. In the first phase, 11 sports centres will be established, with a budget allocation of approximately Rs. 800 crore. The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting on Mission Olympic 2036 at Chandigarh today. Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam also attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the proposed centres will include the Sports University, Rai, State Sports Complex, Palwal, TDL Sports Complex, Panchkula, Ambala and Kurukshetra; as well as Sports Complex Private Academy in Karnal, Jind, Gohana, and Yamunanagar. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on identifying and nurturing young talent, particularly athletes in the 13–16-year age group.
The Chief Minister announced that the Sports University, Rai has been designated as the nodal agency for the Olympic 2036 Talent Mission, which will be supervised by Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam. xxxxxxx |
