SRINAGAR, July 9: Kunwarani Dr. Ritu Singh attended the special fan screening of 'Baby Do Die Do' at INOX Srinagar as the Special Guest, joining hundreds of movie enthusiasts who gathered to celebrate the release of the film and welcome its team to the Valley.
The screening marked a special homecoming for the film's lead actress Huma Qureshi and producer Saqib Saleem, who share deep family roots with Kashmir. The event witnessed an enthusiastic response from fans, reflecting the affection and pride of the people of Srinagar for the talented siblings.
Interacting with the cast and audience, Dr. Ritu Singh congratulated Huma Qureshi for portraying the bold and unconventional character of Baby KarMarKar, described as India's first desi hitwoman, and praised the makers for presenting a fresh and compelling cinematic narrative.
Dr Ritu said "Kashmir is immensely proud of Huma Qureshi. To see one of our own shine so brilliantly in such a unique and powerful role fills our hearts with immense joy. Baby Do Die Do is not just a film; it is a celebration of talent, determination and creativity. We are honoured to welcome Huma and Saqib back home to Srinagar."
Emphasising the importance of women empowerment, Dr. Ritu Singh said that cinema has the power to challenge stereotypes and inspire confidence among young women. She noted that strong female characters encourage women to dream fearlessly, break conventional barriers and emerge as leaders in every sphere of life. She added that empowering women through meaningful storytelling contributes to building a more progressive and inclusive society.
She also complimented Film Director Nachiket Samant and Producer Saqib Saleem of Saleem Siblings for bringing an innovative neo-noir crime thriller to audiences across the country.
The evening culminated with a special cultural programme at Zaznar Resort, bringing together the stars of Kashmir, including some of the region's most celebrated artists, entrepreneurs, creators, media personalities, and other distinguished guests.
