| Employees threaten agitation if probe report not made public | | | Early Times Report Srinagar: Hundreds of government employees on Thursday took to roads and staged demonstrations to protest the alleged rape and murder of a Shopian teenage girl and her sister-in-law last month. The protesting employees warned the government to make the probe public or face agitation. “We have decided that in case the government does not come out with the probe report at the earliest, six lakh employees will launch a massive agitation across the state,” Qayoom Wani, president of his faction of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) said, while addressing hundreds of protesting government employees at Press Colony, Lal Chowk on Thursday afternoon. Chanting ‘we want justice’ and ‘punish the killers’ the employees were carrying black flags to register their protest against the Shopian incident. “We are Kashmiris first then government employees. We can’t tolerate rape and murder of our sisters and daughters,” he added. If the need arises, Wani said that the government employees will resign from their jobs rather being mute spectators to the ‘heinous crimes’. Hafeez Ahmad, another protester told that the people of Kashmir should unite and fight for the justice of Asiya and Nilofer Jan.
