| DC chairs DCDC meeting, reviews Cooperative sector in Udhampur | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 10: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting of the District Cooperative Development Committee to assess the overall performance of the cooperative sector in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore Anand, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives and other concerned officers. A detailed review was held on key issues, including the computerization of PACS, establishment of a cold storage facility at Chenani, Cooperative Infrastructure Development Fund projects and Cash Credit Limit proposals for 2026-27, besides other initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative ecosystem. At the outset, the Deputy Registrar Cooperatives briefed the committee on the overall functioning, achievements and ongoing initiatives of the Cooperative Department in the district. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for greater inter-departmental coordination and collective efforts to revive and strengthen the cooperative movement. He highlighted the pivotal role of cooperatives in promoting rural development, enhancing farmers' access to institutional support and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. The Deputy Commissioner urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination and align their efforts towards making the cooperative sector a strong pillar of inclusive economic growth, rural prosperity and self-reliance in Udhampur district. |
