| Theft of letter head from CM sect: FIR lodged | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 11: Crime Branch Jammu today registers an open FIR for theft of letter head of Chief Minister’s Secretariat u/s 379/417/511/465/468 and 120-B RPC.
According to the FIR vide letter dated March 25, 2009 issued from the Police Head Quarter requested IGP Crime to enquire into the matter. In the letter along with enclosures receipt from IGP traffic, the contents of the letter & documents appeared there to reveal that a communication from PA to Chief Minister of J&K recommending transfer of certain officials from Traffic Jammu to Traffic National Highway Ramban was received by Traffic Head-Quarter on January 28, 2009. On receipt of the communication an enquiry was ordered to be conducted against the officials mentioned in the communication for violation of rules 116 (6) of J&K Police Manual. During the course of enquiry, enquiry officer recorded the statement of PA to Chief Minister, who stated that he has never forwarded the said communication to IGP Traffic and has further stated that signature on the communication are forged. The Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister vide letter dated January 1, 2009 purported recommendation letter for transfer in traffic wing is found has not been issued from Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The contents of the letter and the documents appeared there to apparently points to the commission of offence theft of letter head of Chief Minister’s Secretariat forging of documents and attempt to cheat the traffic police, accordingly case was registered against the author of the forged documents and conspirators (no name has been mentioned) and started investigation.
