Early Times Report BANDIPORA, July 14: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a "Maa Se Guftagoo" session was today held at Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Ajas Bandipora. The programme, chaired by Block Development Officer (BDO) Aloosa, Ulfat Ali, brought together local women particularly Anganwadi workers for an open discussion on the role of mothers in preventing drug abuse among the youth. Interacting with the participants, Ulfat Ali said that the fight against the drug menace begins at home. She emphasized that mothers, through their love, care and constant support, are often the first to notice changes in their children's behaviour. By remaining alert and maintaining a healthy relationship with their children, they can play a decisive role in preventing them from substance abuse, she added. Highlighting the role of parent- children conversation, She stressed that regular conversations between parents and children help build trust and confidence. She encouraged mothers to create an atmosphere where children can speak freely without fear of being judged. Highlighting the initiatives taken by the District Administration, Ulfat Ali also spoke about the District Knowledge Centre and Nun Chai Talks. She said these platforms have been created to help people cope with stress, encourage healthy activities, and provide positive spaces where young people can engage constructively instead of falling into the trap of drugs |
