Jammu, June 12: In continuation of drive against the use of polythene bags within the municipal limits, a team headed by municipal veterinary officer carried out inspection in various localities seized polythene bags from shops/ reharis and other outlets of various areas of Amphalla, Panjthirthi, Pacca Danga, Jain Bazar, Purani Mandi and City Chowk and seize 30 kgs of polythene bags.
Another team headed by Health Officer, municipal corporation visited the areas of Bakshi Nagar, Talab Tillo, Krishna Nagar, Jewel and seized about 100 kgs of polythene bags from shopkeepers, rehari walas and other outlets.
The team beside this also checked food articles of karayana shop, halwai shop, dhabas, tea stalls and took samples of food articles. Besides 20 No.s of challans were also filed against the defaulter for running their business without license as required under PFA Act 1954.
