| JU probe panel submits report | | MARKS ON SALE | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 12: Even though the JU internal enquiry committee on the recent BA Part-II (bi-annual) examination scam has completed its enquiry and submitted the report to the Controller Examination but the University authorities continue to remain reticent and the State Vigilance Organization still on with the inquest. The two members Enquiry Committee comprising of Dr. Vivek Salathia and Prof. D.N. Sahai, which was formulated by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu after an apparent scam was reported to him by an Assistant Registrar of the Examination wing who found the discrepancies in the marking of almost a dozen of marksheets during the re-evaluation process, has submitted its report to the Controller Examination JU but the JU authorities are still tight lipped on the issue. According to some internal sources the involvement of some senior functionaries along with some students of the university is suspected. Controller Examination, University of Jammu, Prof. RD Sharma when contacted refused to comment on the issue and said that “we are much on the track but still cannot tell anything on this stage” On the other hand the State Vigilance Organization, which raided the University of Jammu after the matter was reported in Early Times, is still on with the investigation process and has yet not disclosed any development in the matter. The SVO after the raid has seized the marksheets and answersheets under question and some related documents and till now have questioned three employees of the Examination Wing. Surprisingly, both the agencies investigating the matter have maintained silence on the issue and are not ready to disclose any developments till now despite the fact that the JU internal enquiry committee has already submitted its report.
