| JMC employees booked, arrested for murderous attack on politician | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 12: Two Jammu Municipality Corporation employees were arrested by police on the allegations of beating up of a senior citizen in the premises of JMC here today. Two JMC employees identified as Anup Kumar Sharma, a clerk, and Amarjeet Singh, field officer, beat one Parasm Ram Poonchi to pulp. The condition of the victim is stated to be critical. The incident occurred when Amarjeet Singh after being promoted as field officer was clashing with other employees to have the promotion order. Parasram who was presence there reportedly solve the clash and rebuked the Amarjeet Singh of his act. Reacting upon this both the JMC employee beat him to the pulp. City police has registered a case under section 307 RPC in this regard. Meanwhile, the Internationalist Democratic Party has shown its concern regarding the murderous attack launched on its senior leader Paras Ram Poonchi. Poonchi was immediately taken to Bakshi Nagar Medical Hospital, in a critical position. After thorough examination, Sh. Poonchi is stated to be in critical condition and is still unconscious for over 30 hours. Doctors have claimed he is still not out of danger, sustaining a critical head injury. Be known that Sh. Poonchi was a candidate for Parliament Elections held in the state from Jammu- Poonch Constituency on the ticket of IDP recently. An FIR under section 307/341 RPC was registered, and the accused have been apprehended with immediate effect, while taking immediate action SSP City Sh. Manohar Singh and SP North Satinder Arora have expressed concern over Sh. Poonchi’s health. Numerous socio-political organizations/ Trade Unions viz; IDP, Sheikh Abdul Rehman of Samaj wadi party, Kuldip Dogra- President, Forum For Peaceful Resolution of JK Problem; Forum for Peace & Brotherhood, Knowlegable Peace Society; Shia Front; People’s forum; Sardar Daljeet Singh-President Food Corporation of Indi;, Sh.Rajinder Singh of Dogra Front have expressed their concern over the health of Sh. Poonchi, and appreciated the prompt action of the police, arresting the accused who were avoiding arrest after the commission of offence.
