Congress leader alleges shortage of drinking water in Vijaypur
6/14/2009 10:06:38 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13- Pradesh Congress Committee vice president Thakur Hari Singh has complained of acute shortage of drinking water facilities in several villages of Vijaypur block and urged upon the PHE Department authorities to press into service more water tankers to ease the shortage being faced by the people there.
Addressing a meeting of block Congress committee Vijaypur today, which was among others attended by the Parliament Member Madan Lal Sharma, Hari Singh said that since the canal water is not reaching at the tail end, the department should make necessary arrangements so that the water reaches to the farmers for irrigation purposes without any further delay.
He also stressed the need for urgent repairs of the grid station Vijaypur which was extensively damaged some time back.
Addressing the meeting Madan Lal Sharma expressed his gratitude to the people of the area who overwhelmingly voted in his favour in the recently concluded Parliamentary elections. He promised to take up their problems with the concerned authorities on priority.
