| GMC employees observe strike; demand arrest of culprits | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 13- Federation of Municipal Employees and Trade Union today held strike in protest against the alleged manhandling of a Municipal employee on June 11 when he had to join at his new place of posting. The protesting employees alleged that some outsiders manhandled Amarjeet Singh and used filthy language resulting into a scuffle. While the employees approached the Commissioner he advised them to register FIR in the concerned police station. The Federation has alleged that Municipal authorities have failed to take action against the outsiders, who often have being creating such problems and regretted that Police instead of taking the guilty into custody has arrested the serving employees who were on duty. Members of the Federation in a handout threatened that in case the authorities fail to take action against these disruptive elements they shall resort to other recourse for which the entire responsibility shall lie on the authorities. The handout further claimed that in the meanwhile several Corporators have also expressed their concern over this ugly incident and assured the Federation that they will take up the matter with JMC Commissioner.
