| Dr. Ashok Vaid felicitated | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 13- To felicitate Dr. Ashok Vaid, a renowned oncologist, who was conferred with Padamshree award at New Delhi, the intellectuals and social activists of Bilawar area held a function at press club here last evening. Born in remote village Kishanpur of tehsil Billawar, Dr. Ashok got his primary education from government school in the village, secondary education in Sainik School Nagrota and did his MBBS and MD from GMC Jammu and completed his DM from Chennai. He qualified most of the examinations with distinctions and gold medals. The speakers were highly appreciative of the achievements of Dr. Vaid, the son of the soil, who brought pride to the area of Billawar in particular and Jammu and Kashmir in general. On this occasion I D Soni, retired joint director education presented a memento to Dr. Vaid. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vaid stressed that hard work with devotion never goes waste. While expressing his gratitude to the gathering he promised to carry ahead his mission of service to society and making the humanity cancer free. Prof S L Gupta, Principal GGM Science College, Prof Retd Sat Pal Srivast, Ch.Vidya Sagar, retired sessions judge, Dr. Jia Lal Gupta retired director sheep husbandry, Sansar Chand Gupta, Shakuntla Khajuria, Hari Chand Jalmeria, Gagan Basotra, R C Thakur and Anil Sharma were among others present on the occasion.
