Early Times Report

Jammu, July 30: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department, organised plantation drive at Har Ki Poudi, Bawa, Jammu.
The plantation drive was conducted under the direction of Braham Jyot Satti, President, BJP OBC Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, with the objective of promoting environmental awareness, increasing green cover, and inspiring citizens to actively participate in the protection and preservation of nature.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from Sunny Sangotra, State General Secretary, BJP OBC Morcha, Balkar Singh, Suresh Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Sahil Kumar, and officials of the Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department. Together, they planted saplings of various indigenous and environmentally significant species and appealed to the public to adopt tree plantation as a social responsibility.
During the drive, the participants interacted with local residents and visitors, highlighting the indispensable role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, reducing pollution, conserving biodiversity, preventing soil erosion, improving groundwater recharge, and combating climate change. The public was encouraged not only to plant trees but also to ensure their proper care and protection so that every sapling grows into a healthy tree.
In his message, Braham Jyot Satti, President, BJP OBC Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, said that protecting the environment is a collective responsibility and that every individual has an important role to play in creating a greener and healthier future. He stated that tree plantation is one of the simplest yet most impactful ways to contribute towards environmental sustainability and urged citizens, especially the youth, to actively participate in such initiatives.
He further said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, environmental conservation has become a nationwide movement through initiatives like Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and large-scale afforestation campaigns. He added that BJP OBC Morcha is fully committed to complementing these efforts by organising regular plantation drives and awareness programmes across Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with government departments and civil society. He emphasized that every tree planted today is a gift to future generations and a significant step towards building a cleaner, greener and more prosperous India.
