Jammu, July 30: The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Crime Branch Jammu today organised a One-Day Awareness Programme on the New Criminal Laws and Anti-Drug Awareness (Nasha Mukti Abhiyan) at Government Higher Secondary School, Sunjwan, Jammu. The programme aimed to educate students and staff about the recently enacted criminal laws - Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), while creating awareness about the harmful affects of drug abuse and the crucial role of youth and society in building a drug-free nation. The programme was attended by Sh. Yogesh Bamba, Chief Prosecuting Officer, SCW Jammu; Sh. Deepak Jasrotia, DySP, SCW Jammu; Inspector Arun Sharma, In-charge PSK-9 Sunjwan; and other officers of the Special Crime Wing, who delivered informative sessions on the objectives and key provisions of the new criminal laws, the legal consequences of drug abuse and trafficking, and the importance of community participation in preventing substance abuse. The event was hosted by Mrs. Bandna Gupta, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Sunjwan, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from 215 students and staff members. Interactive discussions encouraged students to become ambassadors of legal awareness and active partners in the fight against drug abuse. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal, who appreciated the initiative of the Special Crime Wing in promoting legal literacy and strengthening community awareness among the youth. |
