Early Times Report JAMMU, July 30: Continuing its asustained crackdown against bovine smuggling under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police successfully foiled three bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdictions of Police Station Nagrota and Police Post Manwal, rescuing 81 bovine animals and seizing three vehicles used in the commission of the offence. During naka checking at Sidhra Bridge, a police team of Police Post Sidhra intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK03P-9380 carrying 36 bovine animals in a cruel and illegal manner. On noticing the police party, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. The vehicle was seized and all the bovines were rescued safely. In another operation at Ban Toll, a police team of Police Station Nagrota intercepted, after a brief chase, a truck bearing registration No. JK02AL-2195. During checking, 34 bovine animals were found being transported illegally and were rescued. |
