| Court rejects bail of in-laws in dowry death case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: Vacation Sessions Judge Jammu RS Jain today rejected bail application of Sat Pal Singh, Rano Devi, Vijay Singh, Ritu Devi and Bishan Singh all in-laws of deceased Rekha widow of Krishan Singh who committed suicide on May 30, 2009. Vacation Sessions Judge observed that the offence alleged against the petitioners are that they made dowry demand and treated her with cruelty as a consequence of cruel treatment, the deceased committed suicide. The allegations are serious in nature and in larger interest of the society the Court is of the view that no good ground is made out by the petitioners for enlarging them on bail and rejected the bail application.
Report Rekha widow of Krishan Singh was admitted in Gandhi Nagar Hospital as a case of consuming poison and had died. According to the police case Rekha was married to Krishan Singh on October 30, 2008. Kirshan Singh and his parents started troubling Rekha to get money from her parents for installing a press. After being fed up with the attitude of her in laws she consumed poisonous and was admitted in the hospital where she died. Police registered a case u/s 498-A/306 RPC and started investigation, except the husband of the deceased other in-laws were arrested by the police who filed bail application which was rejected.
