| Rajouri police foils bovine smuggling bid; 22 bovine animals rescued | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 1: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Police Party of PP Chingus laid a special naka at Dhanwan.
During checking Dumper bearing registration No. JK02DH-5425 coming from the Nowshera side towards Kashmir was intercepted at the naka point.
On noticing the police party the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. During the search of the vehicle the police rescued 22 bovine animals which were found tied in a cruel manner and being transported without the requisite permission from the District Magistrate.
In this connection a Case FIR No. 396/2026 under Sections 223 BNS and 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri.
Rajouri Police remains committed to taking strict action against those involved in illegal bovine smuggling. |
