AKHNOOR, Aug 3: Reinforcing its commitment towards community development and youth empowerment, the Indian Army recently launched a month long plumbing skill development programme for local youth of village Rajwal as part of its civic outreach initiatives under Operation Sadhbhavana. The programme aims to equip participants with practical plumbing skills, enhancing their employability and enabling them to pursue sustainable livelihoods. Participants are being introduced to modern plumbing techniques, installation and maintenance of water supply systems, use of plumbing tools, safety standards and basic repair and troubleshooting methods.
The initiative is designed to bridge the skill gap among unemployed youth by providing industry relevant vocational training. A total of ten participants are benefiting from the programme and successful completion of the course will enhance their prospects for employment and self-employment in the construction and allied sectors. The month-long plumbing skill development programme reflects the Indian Army's continued dedication towards fostering inclusive development, empowering youth, and contributing to the long-term prosperity of the region. |
