| PDP MLA wants compensation for Mendhar blast victims | | | Early Times Report MENDHAR, June 14: Expressing grave concern over killing of two youth in a landmine at village Dadot Kanga, former Minister and MLA Mendhar Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan today demanded adequate compensation for the families of the deceased innocent youth who lost their lives in the incident. In a statement issued here today, Rafiq Hussain demanded that families of deceased Mohammad Riyasat and Mohammad Asif, who were killed in the mine blast, must be given adequate ex-gratia relief. He also demanded that government jobs should be given to at least one family member of the both the families. The MLA also inquired about the conditions of other two youth who were seriously injured in the incident in the incident. He asked the administration to provide advanced medical treatment to the injured who have been shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital. While condemning the authorities for their failure to prohibiting civilians from entering the mining areas, the MLA demanded that the mined areas located near the civilian population must be immediately de-mined to avoid re-occurrence of such tragedies in future. The MLA said that he would take up the matter with the defence authorities for de mining the areas inhabited by the civil population near Line of Control as large numbers of people have lost their lives in such incidents.
