JAMMU, Aug 4: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu campaign and intensified security arrangements for SANJY-2026, Jammu Police achieved another major success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering approximately 63 grams of suspected heroin from their possession during naka checking in the Satwari area.
On 02-08-2026, during naka checking at Sant Nagar near Satwari Airport Road, a police team of Police Station Satwari intercepted a scooty bearing Registration No. JK02DV-8598. During the checking, two persons travelling on the vehicle were identified as Satinder Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh, resident of Bhour Camp, Chatha, and Som Raj, son of Bishan Dass, resident of Seri Kallan, Nagrota, Jammu.
During their personal search, approximately 59 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from the possession of Satinder Singh, while 4 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from the possession of Som Raj.
In this regard, FIR No. 220/2026 has been registered at Police Station Satwari under Sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act, and investigation into the case is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the contraband and to identify any forward or backward linkages.
