Model Academy holds Investiture Ceremony for student council

JAMMU, Aug 4: Model Academy School conducted its Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026-27, marking another significant milestone in its proud 90-year journey of nurturing responsible, confident, and value-driven leaders.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, renowned diabetologist and distinguished alumnus of the 1971 batch, as the Chief Guest. The programme commenced with a Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets and Scouts & Guides of the school, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp of learning. In her welcome address Vice Principal, Ms. Isha Sharma, highlighted the distinguished journey of the Chief Guest and congratulated the newly elected council members. She highlighted the significance of leadership in shaping responsible citizens.
The Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, and Vice Head Girl were formally invested with badges and sashes and pledged to lead by example, uphold the values of the institution, and work towards the holistic development of the school community.
Student leaders of the various clubs were formally invested with badges, symbolising their commitment to serve the school with dedication, integrity, and responsibility. The House Presidents and Vice Presidents were also conferred with badges and took the oath to uphold the rich traditions, values, and ethos of the institution.
In his inspiring address, Chief Guest Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma motivated the young leaders to embrace responsibility with confidence, integrity, and a spirit of selfless service. Reflecting on his journey as a proud alumnus of Model Academy, he reminded students that true leadership is demonstrated through actions that inspire others, foster teamwork, and create a positive impact on society. He encouraged them to embrace honesty, dedication, and resilience, setting an inspiring example for their peers.
As a token of gratitude and remembrance, Director, Dr. Adit Gupta, and Joint Director, Mrs. Rupa Gupta, presented Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma with a handcrafted painting created by the students, reflecting the creativity and artistic talent nurtured at Model Academy. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Swati Sharma and Ms. Neetu Bhardawaj. Special contributions from the art, music, and dance departments added elegance and liveliness to the occasion.
