| Bhim seeks release of detained separatist leaders, writes to PM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 14: Panthers Party Chairman Prof. Bhim Singh has sought Prime Minister’s intervention in release of detained separatist leaders Bhim Singh in a letter to the Prime Minister of India has strongly protested against the arrests and illegal detentions of Kashmiri political leaders under State’s black law called Public Safety Act which was enacted by Sheikh Mohd Abdullah’s Government in 1978. Prof Bhim Singh the then Congress MLA was arrested under that draconian law to punish him for supporting Poonch youth movement. The Panthers Chief described arrests of senior leaders under this dark legislation as totally illegal and challenged the Chief Minister to put them trial in case they have breached any law of the state. “Detention with trial is totally fraud on the democratic jurisprudence which formed part of India democracy”. Demanding immediate revocation of their detentions, the Panthers Party Chairman further accused the State Chief Minister, his saintly father and State Congress leaders for their personal bias and vengeance against the Kashmiri angry jailed leaders that they have been shifted to the worst prisons in Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur 400 kms away from their home where temperature is 45 degrees and no cooling systems in those prisons. This has been done only teach them a lesson and punish them. Bhim Singh said that he has spent years in those ridiculous prisons and I know why 80 Years old Geelani has been locked there.
