| Ohio University of US donates equipments to SKIMS | | | Early Times Report Srinagar,June 14: A leading Medical college has donated sophisticated machinery to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of medical Sciences Sours. Medical School of University of Ohio, United States, has donated a defibrillator, angioplasty catheters and other Cath Lab-related material to SKIMS. Dr. M. Yusuf Kanjwal, Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Ohio Medical School, handed over these items to Director, SKIMS, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar. Last year also, a well-known cardiologist in United States, Professor Fayaz Shawl of George Washington University, had donated stents and catheters to SKIMS for poor patients. The donations helped dozens of patients to get cardiac devices free of cost. Apart from delivering this material and equipment, Dr. Kanjwal also promised to help in starting electro-physiological studies and cardiac electro-ablative procedures at SKIMS. Dr. Zargar thanked Dr. Kanjwal and his group and wished that other non-resident Kashmiri doctors would help in improving healthcare in the State.
