1 killed, 24 hurt in Doda accident

Srinagar, June 14: A bus driver was killed, and at least 24 passengers were injured in a road accident in Baderwah area of Doda district of Jammu region on Sunday.
Reports said that a bus driver was killed while 24 passengers, 5 of them critically, were injured when a minibus bearing registration number JK06-746 skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Bandhar Nallah.
The deceased driver has been identified as Parvez Ahmed son of Qamar-ud-din of Basti, Baderwah.
Five of the critically wounded passengers were shifted to government medical college, Jammu for serious injuries.
Sources said that the accident took place on Sunday morning when the mini bus on its way to Bhaderwah from village Thanalla skidded off the road and fell into 200-metre deep gorge. They said the bus driver died on the spot while the injured were removed to hospital for treatment.
