| Pak Hindu pilgrims carry home sweet memories of Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 14: 113 Pakistani Hindus mostly from Sindh province are at month long pilgrimage to India. First destination of pilgrimage they performed at Mata Vaishno Devi after crossing over to this side on 8th June. Jammu Yatri Bhawan extended warm reception to the pilgrims on their return at Jammu by organizing a spiritual cum cultural program here on Sunday. On the occasion Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal, National Conference provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta, Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader Dr. Nirma Singh alongwith with his wife, Retd. Justices K. K Gupta and S. K Gupta were among other distinguished personalities present on the occasion. Pilgrims will be leaving to Haridwar by day after tomorrow and then to Shirdi, Raipur and other religious place. In Haridwar all the facilities will be provided by the Jammu Yatri Bhawan. “We were expecting the pilgrimage tour in the month of March but due to delay for nod from both the countries of India and Pakistan the tour got six month late as per our wishes” said Mahesh Kumar. Kartar Lal Ariya an advocate and principal of his school Hindu Reform Revival Foundation while keeping his views expresses dissatisfaction with the Hindu organization of the country for not helping their brethren in providing religious literature. He said that due to non availability of literature in Urdu and Sindhi languages coming generations are facing a lot, still they are trying hard made available the same for younger generations, he added. Other pilgrims in their speeches expressed that Hindus of India and Pakistan are out of sight to each other but they are always in one and others hearts. Social, political leaders welcomed the guests warmly and expressed solidarity with them. Last year half of number of pilgrims visited India while next year the number of pilgrims may be higher, expressed Mahesh Kumar. Jammu Yatri Bhawan gifted a silver statue of Mata Goddess to pilgrims where as Engineer Kumar of Pakistan gifted Rs. 50000 to the president Jammu Yatri Bhawan Pawan Shastri. Sushil Kumar an eminent singer and his son Sonu Kumar mesmerized audience with their performance in religious Bhagans. On the occasion several students were given prizes for their out standing performance in art and literature. Jammu Yatri Bhawan is expected to receive some more Sikh pilgrims from Multan in Pakistan in future besides Saudi Arabia Hindus were offered to sent the ashes of their died Hindus for immerse (Visarjan) in the holy water of Ganga. Jammu Yatri Bhawan will be receiving those ashes from Delhi air port to perform religious rituals thereof. Jharna Mata a lady pilgrim expressed happiness on being here at Jammu. She said that they are attached with the religious places of the India as their ancestors used to worship at these places and by getting a chance to offer their obeisance at similar place provides them spiritual enlightenment.
