| Leh Police cracks murder case in 12 hours | | | Early Times Report Leh, June 14: Leh police claimed to have solved a sensational murder case in record time of 12 hours, while the accused has been arrested in this connection. Official sources said that on 8th of June 2009 a complaint was lodged by one Nimo Laborer group leader saying that one of their laborers Rakesh Kumar S/O Purna Bhadur R/O Nepal who was working with them for the past ten years in Leh district died in mysterious circumstances in the SNM Hospital. On the suspicious and mysterious circumstances of the death of deceased Rakesh Kumar S.R. Samuel-IPS SSP Leh constituted a special team comprising of Manjit Kour Dy. SP Hqrs, Meraj Giri SHO P/S Leh, Manzoor Hussain I/C PP Housing Colony and investigation was started. “Since it was totally a blind case and all the police officials manning the police posts were alerted and search started” sources told NAK over Phone adding the accused Suresh Kumar S/O Chander Shekhar R/O West Bengal (Driver) was arrested from Moti Market Leh when he was moving in a suspicious way. They said on sustained interrogation it was revealed that Rakesh Kumar and accused Suresh Kumar along with other two persons Lakpa Dorjey R/O Nepal and Sonam. Tamank R/O Nepal assembled at the New Bus Stand and decided to go to Skara for having liquor. The deceased advised the accused not to drink too much as he has already however they accused did not listen to the advice and consume more liquor which resulted into a scuffle between the accused and the deceased. The accused started driving Tata Sumo Vehicle No: HP01K/1428 towards the Airport road and he was stopped by the deceased as well as the others accompanying them and they got out from the vehicle and started moving towards Skalzing areas by foot. “Accused started driving the vehicle towards the Spituk route and within 10-15 minutes he came with another person namely Ashok Rai S/O Manjit Rai R/O West Bengal and he crossed them ahead and he was hiding and waiting for them to come towards the isolated areas near FCI Office Skalzaing” the investigation revealed. The accused person hit the deceased with wooden stick on the back of his head forcibly while Ashok Rai also helped him in beating up the deceased and other two people who were little bit away from the spot of incident when they ran towards the deceased. The accused and the co-accused fled away from the spot after committing the crime. The deceased who was admitted in SNM Hospital by his other associates. He went into coma and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The accused wanted to flew away from the Leh district but due to heavy police patrolling in the district they were not able to do so. They were planning to escape from Leh District but were apprehended by the Police and weapon of offence and the vehicle was seized. The whole murder case was solved in a record time by Leh police. It is worth while to mention here that Leh District Police has solved the case with the record time of 12 hours. Case FIR No: 34 U/S 302, 34 RPC was registered against the accused persons. The motive of Murder case as per preliminary investigation seems to be tri-angle love affair with a Nepali girl.
