| President’s Cup: FCC Blues XI lifts trophy | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 14: The FCC Blues XI lifted the President’s Cup Cricket Tournament which was organised by Kashmir wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here today. In the final, played today, FCC Blues outplayed UCC Reds in the final. Earlier, batting first after wining the toss, UCC Reds lost all their wickets for 187 runs in 38 overs of the 40 overs match. In reply, FCC chased the target of 188 runs in last over of their innings thereby making it a close contest. Muzafar made highest 50 runs for UCC Reds while Huwaid contributed 41. From FCC Blues XI, Naseer clinched four wickets. Batting second, FCC Blues overhauled the required total in 39.2 overs with Manzoor playing a match winning innings of 69 runs and Zahid contributing 42. From UCC Reds, Zahoor bowled well and took away four wickets. CAPTAINS MEET: A meeting of the captains of all the affiliated units of JKCA was conducted by the Kashmir wing. The meeting, which was chaired by the general secretary of JKCA, Salim Khan, discussed in length about future cricketing programme. While captains put forth their suggestion to make things better, the office bearers of JKCA, including joint secretary Kashmir wing, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat asked the captains to keep their respective teams in discipline playing cricket it its real spirit.
