Shastri urges CM to regularize daily wagers

Jammu, June 14: National Mazdoor Conference, president, Subash Shastri has appealed the chief minister Umar Abdullah to regularize the services of all the daily wagers, casual labours, contractual and adhoc employees of the state govt. adding that the committee constituted by the govt. for the purpose should be asked its final report to the state govt. at the earliest.
Addressing NMC workers rally here today, Shastri said that these daily rated workers neither getting there wages regularly nor they had been regularized for last so many years which calls for taking immediate measures for improving their working conditions. Shastri also urged Abdullah to also provide other perks and allowances which have been made available to be the center govt. employees, and urged him for removal of anomalies in SRO 93 to satisfy all sections of the salaried class, He demanded that the arrears on account of 6th pay commission implementation be released in two installments.
Pleading the cause of PSU’s employees, Shastri emphasized that they should be given pensionary benefits and COLA converted into DA. He also pealed that 6% DA installment from January this year be released in favour of state govt. employees and pensioners as this benefit has already been extended by the centre govt. to its employees and pensioners.
Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu, Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Kasturi Lal, Sukh Dev Singh, Parshotam Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Ram Lal, Rampal Sharma, Sham Singh, A. Malik, Mohan Lal, Dalip Kumar and Barkat Ram.
