JAMMU, Aug 12: With the objective of enhancing passenger convenience and promoting religious tourism, the Railway Board has approved the extension of Train No. 19223/19224 Sabarmati - Jammu Tawi Express up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The train will run via Jammu and will have a halt at Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan station before reaching Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This extension will provide great relief to thousands of pilgrims and general passengers from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and other parts of Western India. Until now, passengers coming from these regions had to deboard at Jammu Tawi station and take a bus or other modes of transport to reach Katra. With the new arrangement in place, passengers will no longer face the hassle of changing trains, loading and unloading luggage, or incurring additional expenses. The journey will now be more comfortable, convenient and time-saving. The commencement date of the extended service of Train No. 19223/19224 will be notified separately once finalized. The Railway Administration requests passengers to contact the IRCTC website, mobile app or station enquiry counters for reservations and the latest status of the train.
